...as Trump seeks to have his case dismissed.

On Wednesday, Ms. James fired an opening salvo, arguing that a trial is not necessary to find that Mr. Trump and the other defendants inflated the value of their assets in annual financial statements, fraudulently obtaining favorable loans and insurance arrangements.

The fraud was so pervasive, she said in a court filing, that Mr. Trump had falsely boosted his net worth by between $812 million and $2.2 billion each year over the course of a decade.

Since the evidence is undisputed, James said a trial is unnecessary.

James seeks to bar Trump and three of his children from leading their family business, the Trump Organization, and to require him to pay a fine of around $250 million.

Trump's lawyers said hey, those crimes are too old to bring to trial.

They seek summary judgment as well.

Wow, I didn't know you could ask for Summary Judgement on that, but no one is disputing the evidence? Well, if the law is against you, dispute the facts, if the facts are against you, dispute the law. But it might be too old, and everyone made money are the arguments.

still, this a massive fine, and trump better hope DWAC goes public for a big grift, or MAGA doesnt have donor fatigue relative to jailtime crimes.
