Quite the conumdrum the left has now.
Biden campaigned on reversing each and every one of Trump’s border policies. And he has, issuing loads of executive orders as soon as he assumed office.

Then the left got to watch people flood over the southern border and lined up to loudly proclaim that the Border Was Secure and The Borfer Is Not Open.

Now that they’re taking it on the chin in the polls on this issue…wE gOTtA sEcURe ThE bOrDeR yOu GuYs. And of course all the stupid policies and mistakes they’ve made are all the fault of the Republicans.

The public won’t buy it.

So let me be clear. My team has been at the table for weeks now with a bipartisan group of senators to negotiate a deal including [the] border because I believe we need significant policy changes, including changes in our asylum system to ensure that we have the [legal] authorities we need to control the border, and I’m ready to act … I think next week we’re gonna be able to work out something, at least in the Senate, and I’m hopeful it is going to be the bipartisan package the Senate is going to pass, God willing.

Now the question is for the [House] Speaker and House Republicans: Are they ready to act as well? They have to choose whether they want to solve a problem or keep weaponizing issues to score political points against the president.

I’m ready to solve the problem. I really am. Massive changes. I mean it sincerely.

You and your Adderal pharmacist have had 3 years to do something and you’ve only made it worse. Solve the problem? From what I’ve seen the ‘bipartisan’ bill will do nothing of the kind.

dope1: Quite the conumdrum [sic] the left has now.
Biden campaigned on reversing each and every one of Trump’s border policies. And he has...

You can't even get three sentences into your rambling before lying.

President Biden kept Title 42 until May 11, 2023, nearly a year and a half after taking office. While Title 42 was in effect from March 2020 to May 2023, the Border Patrol carried out 2.8 million expulsions.

When the pandemic measure was lifted his administration proposed a new stricter Circumvention of Lawful Pathways rule prompting outcry from immigrant advocates that the president’s border posture was little different than Trump’s. That new rule would presume that migrants are ineligible for asylum if they entered the country unlawfully and would allow rapid deportation of anyone who had failed to request protection from another country while in route to the United States or who did not notify border authorities through a mobile app of their plans to seek asylum.

Most of the migrants encountered at and between ports of entry since Biden took office -- which have increased substantially thanks to the pent-up demand created by the pandemic -- are in active removal proceedings in immigration court.

As albaby1 tirelessly explained to you, border policy is outdated. Capacity constraints have overwhelmed border processing facilities and the only way the immigration crisis gets resolved is through congressional legislation and funding.

Yet Speaker Johnson -- who days ago powwowed with Orange Jesus -- said he will not bring a Senate bill to the floor and does not want to consider immigration reform until a new administration is in office. Trump cultists like senator Lindsey Graham and Trump apologists like senator Mitch McConnell have told Johnson he won't get a better deal than he'll get right now but Johnson is afraid of both Trump and the far right wackadoodles who have threatened to vacate the chair if Johnson considers anything but HR 2.

In short, republicans are blocking immigration reform, some because they refuse to compromise, others because they don't want to give president Biden a 'win,' and still others because they're afraid of Trump.

And he clearly won't listen. Picture a little kid with his fingers stuffed in his ears and yelling "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

It is important for cultists to maintain their beliefs against all evidence to the contrary, otherwise it all starts to fall apart and they are left adrift.

After you get your Ukraine money, what is to stop you from ignoring or slow walking anything in that agreement that actually impedes the flow. Reagan trusted the dems in their "Amnesty Now, Security Later" deal but later never came.

The deal the Senate has gives the democrats 5,000 illegals A DAY over the border. I haven’t seen anything about it adding floating barriers or any kind of enforcement whatsoever. It basically freezes the poop show we have in place forever.

It’s ridiculous, which is why Biden wants it. Also note that when he says he’s ready to compromise what he really means is the GOP should just shut up and vote for his priorities.

Did Reagan regret amnesty?

The suggestion that Reagan regretted the amnesty law is not new. But previous versions of this story usually attribute the claim to his longtime friend Ed Meese, who served as Reagan's attorney general.

David Bier, now an immigration policy analyst with the libertarian Cato Institute, researched the matter in 2013 and concluded the former president's so-called regret was an "internet myth."

Bier quoted Reagan as suggesting in a 1980 candidates forum that it would be better to allow immigrants to come in and out of the country legally with work permits instead of "talking about putting up a fence."

"... It seems that Reagan would understand that his law failed to stop illegal immigration, not because we allowed people to stay, but because we refused to allow more to come — in his farewell address, he said he wanted an America 'open to anyone with the will and heart to get here,' " Bier wrote for the Daily Caller website. "That doesn’t sound like regret to me."

Perhaps it's because you treasure your horseshit Mike. It's not real, but it's warm, makes you feel good, but it smells so much you should be able to detect it. Enjoy your fence as your side strangles democracy.

"That doesn’t sound like regret to me." ... guy from Libertarian Cato Institute.

Whether Reagan regrets it or not, I regret it. If the Dems delivered on their part of the bargain back then, we would not be in quite the mess we are today.

Plus, I doubt very much when Reagan said, "open to anyone with the will and heart to get here" he never intended on providing food, shelter, clothing and healthcare for the millions already here and the hundreds of thousands of new arrivals piling on each month.

Dope: The deal the Senate has gives the democrats 5,000 illegals A DAY over the border.

Lankford, one of the architects of "the deal," said that's a complete lie.

bighairymike: If the Dems delivered on their part of the bargain back then, we would not be in quite the mess we are today.

Tell us, please, what did "the Dems" promise that they did not deliver? Quotes and links, please.

Tonight's news is that the Supreme Court has vacated the Fifth Circuit Court's injunction in Texas and is allowing US Border Patrol agents to remove razor wire deployed by Texas GOP Gov. Greg Abbott’s security initiative at the US-Mexico border while the state’s legal challenge to the practice plays out.

In a 5-4 ruling, Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh said "who needs a Supremacy Clause anyway" and would have denied the federal request. Justices Roberts and Barrett joined the three liberal justices in forming the majority.

So much for those on the right who scream for “originalists,” and “textualists” on the high court. Those four staunchest originalists voted against the Supremacy Clause.
