"The hearing turned from tense to combative during the questioning by Senator Eric Schmitt, a Missouri Republican. In a remarkable exchange, Mr. Smith appeared baffled by the senator’s questions about whether he had attended an Atlanta Hawks game in February 2024. Senator Schmitt suggested Mr. Smith was in Atlanta to meet with Fani Willis, the district attorney who prosecuted Mr. Trump there.
A confused Mr. Smith said he had not seen a basketball game in Atlanta, causing Mr. Schmitt to triumphantly declare, “I think you’ve already perjured yourself.” He closed by calling Mr. Smith a “dirtbag.”
Mr. Schmitt’s heated accusation appeared to unravel almost immediately under further questioning by Senator Amy Klobuchar, a Minnesota Democrat." —New York Times
Schmitt, a practicing moron, humiliated himself in every way it is possible to do. With ludicrously-wrong information, a bullying tone, and childish insults, his career sank unceremoniously beneath the waves, in full view of the nation.
If it's true that no publicity is bad publicity, then Eric has an enjoyable evening of appearing on television in store.
And like all true MAGAts, I'm sure he will be coming forward with a full apology at any time now.
