This, dear readers, is the ULTIMATE in Get Woke, Go Broke!

It turns out that 95% of the entire province of British Columbia falls under these Aboriginal Title things. So now...the tribes are trying to grab entire towns!

First up: Kamloops, BC. Kamloops for those who don't know is a mountain bike and outdoorsy tourist town:

Similar case in Kamloops
She points to an ongoing notice of a civil claim case by the Secwepemc Nation for Kamloops. She says the case seeks Aboriginal title over the entire city and other areas.

“There could be hundreds of similar claims that have been filed, but we don’t know because the government has so far refused to notify property owners,” Sturko said.

“They had the opportunity in the Cowichan case, and they are filled with excuses about why they didn’t do that. But the reality is, there was nothing legally preventing them from letting property owners know.”

Sturko says that property owners deserve to know if their land is affected.

“I think that what we are seeing is the public is waking up to the reality that there are multiple claims that have been filed against the province that assert Aboriginal title over areas of B.C. where not only crownland exists, but private property exists. This is adding a lot of uncertainty and anxiety.”

The best part of all this is that the provincial government is being tight-lipped about what claims have been filed.

Popcorn level: 1970s-era full buttery goodness, the kind that made Dope1 throw up as a kid because it was so rich.

I don't know why you're getting excited by this, it's in Canada/

Because:
-Few places in the planet are as virtue-signally as British Columbia
-left wingers never think things through and never wonder what the impact of their ideas are
-This is the world’s largest story of Get Woke, Go Broke ever
-The popcorn factor is off the charts

Plus it’ll be amusing to see
1. How much in fees the average person in Canada is now on the hook for
2. How fast libs down here stop their “land acknowledgements”

Well, Canada has royal lands and they've given a bunch of land back to the natives. If you look at us, we're not giving land anywhere close to what Canada is doing, we have a different legal system, and we compensate at fair market value, but so does Canada.

"If a land claim settlement in Canada involves converting private land to reserve status, the landowner is compensated
. Generally, the government's policy is to not dispossess third parties (private landowners) as a result of specific land claim settlements. Instead, the First Nation typically receives financial compensation to purchase other lands, or the government acquires the land from willing sellers."

Other than fishing rivers, most of the land becoming tribal is out in the middle of nowhere in the USA.

However, the Yeet Tribe has filed a tribal claim in Florida for Mar a Lago and the golf course. :)
