Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, who publicly backed Donald Trump for “business reasons,” just got a harsh lesson in what it actually means to do business with Trump—he got completely screwed over.
Let me break this down for you. Back in 2024, Kemp said that even though he wasn’t Trump’s biggest fan personally, he preferred his policies over those of Vice President Kamala Harris. “It’s a business decision,” he told a Republican audience.
And now?
His business partner, Donald Trump, has decided to gut FEMA and deny Georgia the critical disaster aid that President Biden had previously approved for hurricane recovery. That’s right—Kemp begged for an extension of FEMA assistance for cleanup efforts after Hurricane Helene, and Trump’s FEMA basically told him to go pound sand.
Let me remind you that Biden had immediately stepped in after Hurricane Helene, ensuring Georgia had the federal support it needed. But the moment Trump got his hands on FEMA, he made it a priority to cut off aid to a state whose governor helped him win in 2024.
This is classic Trump—vindictive, incompetent, and eager to punish anyone who isn’t groveling at his feet.
And it’s not like this should have been a surprise to Kemp.••••

Kemp may have supported Trump in 2024, but his groveling has not been deep enough, and there was also that matter of rebuffing Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
Lesson for MAGA: never disagree with Trump. If He says the Gulf of Mexico is now the Gulf of America, or that we must acquire Greenland and Gaza, then that is what you must parrot verbatim

And he won in 2024.
And within that 4 year period, similar movements came up in other countries too.

Why not focus on your side WINNING, and pretending you like "democracy!" and on some issues, compromise with the citizens whose opinion you pretend to value? Then trump wouldn't even be in office right now.
You lost the maximum number of elections to this man and you now want to "defeat" him.
BAAAAAAAAAA for once - join the real world. Not just the win you'll easily get in 2026, but a good, governing mandate in 2028.

He already won, and can't run again. The best we can do is pack as many Dems in the House and Senate in 2026 as possible. Not sure how many senate seats are up for grabs.
That's the only thing that can slow the destruction.

Very possible - as I've predicted just a week ago here.
*But* - ok - you win 2028. Small margin. So? Ok, Trump is gone but your butts are owned by a few tiny red state senators for 4 years and you do some semi corporate friendly things ----is that your grand vision?
OR......
You compromise a bit.
You win a mandate.
And you have a very nice Centrist run - and you can even sneak in some center-left stuff when nobody is looking.
As one of the few thinking people on that side - maybe you'd be interested? If not no worries, you have your vote and preference just like we all have .
