The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

“ Chinese automaker BYD is building an immense EV production hub that will cover an area larger than the entire city of San Francisco. This single mega-complex integrates EV assembly lines, battery facilities, and all parts suppliers into one continuous manufacturing zone.

This unprecedented scale reflects China’s strategy of creating "industrial cities" for clean energy. By consolidating the full supply chain, BYD can drastically speed up production and cut costs, enabling nearly every component of the electric vehicle to be manufactured on-site.

The facility will function as a self-contained city with housing and logistics hubs, capable of producing millions of EVs annually. BYD’s massive factory underscores the accelerating scale and transformation of the global electric vehicle revolution.
