There are some great fares to Athens from Boston, NYC, Chicago, and some other cities with departures/returns in November and the first week or so of December, including on Delta/KLM/Air France. Basic economy under $500 r/t and main cabin around $120 additional. Explore here:

I would have grabbed one of these flights were it not for the fact that DW and I are already leaving for Italy in 2 weeks.
