BYD Company's new low-priced Seagull electric vehicle is creating a stir far and wide in the automobile industry

Many reviews of the $12K Seagull indicate that it does not have the feel, for drivers, of a cheap car. The Seagull was highlighted by the Associated Press to have craftsmanship that rivals U.S. electric vehicles that cost three times as much. Of note, a shorter-range Seagull version costs under $10,000. While tariffs on imported Chinese vehicles will keep the Seagull out of the U.S. for the near term, the strong response to the Seagull is being watched closely. The Seagull is expected to be sold in the UK in 2025.

...in China.
The latest price equates to 8870 euros there.
But FWIW, last I heard the Seagull is expected to be introduced in Europe at around $20k euros (equating to $21570 USD at the moment)

This was expressed as OT which is somewhat matching as the position size for Berkshire is so small now.

However there has been a lot of interest at Shrewd’m in BYD, despite its monumentally rapid success it seems to still have a long runway ahead, and the dedicated board is here:
