Since absolutely nothing that Mad King Donnie the Blinker's doing is making any sense -- and the market's reaction is as stoopid... Apple up 25 points when the 125% Chynna tariff remains in place -- how's about spending 2 minutes watching the trailer for the new Apple TV+ series, Murderbot?
Based on Martha Wells’ bestselling Hugo and Nebula Award-winning book series “The Murderbot Diaries,” the 10-episode series -- executive produced by Emmy Award winner Alexander Skarsgård and hailing from Academy Award nominees Chris and Paul Weitz -- will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Friday, May 16, 2025 -- coincidentally, also the completion of my sixth and final round of Docetaxel, Zoledronic, and Degarelix (well, actually, both Thursday and Friday). The fourth round, completed last Thursday, really kicked my ass for a stretch of days.
If you're a sci-fi fan, you'll love the Murderbot books. If you're lukewarm to sci-fi, like me, you'll love the Murderbot books. Read them. They're on Cloud Library, if you prefer audiobooks. There are seven volumes in the series and all but one are novellas, quick reads.
https://www.marthawells.com/murderbot.htmNow that I've cursed the 10-part series, I'll watch to see how soon Mad King Donnie the Blinker changes his mind on tariffs -- you know it's just a matter of time.

Please get better Commonone. You've got many fans of your posts on this board.
And thanks for the Murderbot series recommendation. I'll have to check out the books.
As for Apple, yeah, the positive market reaction doesn't make much sense, but as an APPL shareholder, I'll take what I can get.

I love this series. I will be watching it, but I worry about adaptations of books that I love. More often than not, the producer, director, and screen writer mess things up to the point where I give up and just reread the books again. His Dark Materials I'm looking at you.

That certainly happens. But there are notable exceptions: Sharp Objects, Normal People, Watchmen, Fleishman is in Trouble, Dark Winds (the various books), the Longmire series, Lessons in Chemistry, the Bosch series (although I'm not enjoying the final season as much), Jurassic Park, Case Histories, Where the Crawdads Sing, and The Handmaid's Tale, for example. I haven't yet seen the adaptation of One Hundred Years of Solitude. But I take your point.

Well, I'm working on it, thanks. And my bloodwork looks good so far. But the clock is ticking -- more so now that Trump has decided to defund cancer and other research -- and beating stage 4 cancer is a little like winning Powerball: it happens, but not often. So I'll be here posting for another couple of months but will likely move along when my strength and focus recover to use my remaining time in better ways. Others will easily fill my small absence.

Remember the wise words of Benjamin Graham:

I got lucky and only had radiation treatment after surgery. I'm sympathetic, because I've know several people who got chemo and it took a lot out of them. I'd like to watch Murderbot, but I'll be in the Philippines.
