I remember Bill Clinton understood that we as Americans - are frontiers people. Dreamers. We don't like the "tax the rich" because we THINK we're gonna get there one day and secretly, we kind of respect many who do.
Bill Clinton actually lauded "the rich". He said to the effect of "i wanna create more rich people than Reagan Bush did.....BUT".....and he also stated how deficit reduction or even tax increases would help balance the budget, and drive interest rates lower so businesses and rich people could capitalize on it.
