web.archive.org - Metar faqs with new linksWhile I'm at it. The board was created in 2001, but not as METAR. It was originally established as the Mishhedlo Board in the Speaker's Corner. Later, after mishedlo left, the board fell into disarray. In 2007, Wendy suggested reconstituting and renaming the board. There was a series of polls, and PolymerMom came with the suggestion 'METAR', for 'Macroeconomic Trends and Risks', which ultimately got voted as the new name for the board.
