Updating my path to dual citizenship: It took them about a month after I UPSed the documents to receive an acknowledgement of receipt. When I mailed them in June the wait time was 10-12 months. Shortly after acknowledgement in July, the wait time was 24 months and a week later they were saying 33 months. We got our certificates of citizenship 2 days ago, but my sister, niece and 3 kids who submitted their applications as a unit 2 weeks before I did the 3 for my group is still waiting. Better lucky than good, or an issue of 3rd Generation taking longer than Generation 1&2?

Either way, very grateful at how quickly this came together. Next step a passport and see how the midterms go, how words translate to action come January. DH and I LOVED our 5 weeks in Toronto this summer, but I have zero illusions that winter wouldn't be a different story. This whole evolving thing between Canada and the EU is interesting as well. It's nice to have options.
