Considered posting about this earlier in the day but figured I’d already stirred enough hornets for the day.

Undoubtedly, the usuals will post something along the lines of: “Aren’t you in favor of stopping (virtually nonexistent)voter fraud?
The answer to that question lies within the parentheses above.
The fraud being perpetrated on American voters are the frauds that go under the title “Protecting the Integrity of the Vote”, whose net effect is not to reduce (virtually non-existent) voter fraud, but rather to make it more difficult for eligible voters to actually vote.
No longer content with simple state issued IDs, the SAVE Act will demand proof of citizenship- a birth certificate or passport, which many folks simply don’t have immediate access to.
Plus, if you are a married woman and think that you can simply provide your marriage certificate to prove that you are the same person whose name appears on your birth certificate…..Tough Luck!! You must also provide court documents proving that you actually completed the process of having your name legally changed.
The aged, the poor, college students and women- particularly women are all in the crosshairs of the (UN)SAVE Act.
Call your reps and Senators tomorrow.

Nothing more than an illegal poll tax on low income Americans.
Remember, the ONLY people that even deep red states could find cheated in the 2020 election were Republicans who tried to vote for Trump twice.
Funny how all the accusations of cheating miraculously (Lordy, Lordy! Hallelujah!!!) disappeared in 2024.
I guess Republicans are worried that gerrymandering isn’t cheating enough.
