The Washington Examiner reported that last night, while Fox News’s Sean Hannity was interviewing Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa from Times Square, his volunteer crime prevention group took down an alleged migrant shoplifter.
“In fact, our guys have just taken down one of the migrant guys right here on the corner of 42nd and 7th while all this is taking place,” Sliwa said. “They’ve taken over! They’ve taken over!”
A pan of the camera showed the guardians confronting the purported criminal in the heart of Times Square.
“He is out of control, out of control,” Sliwa said before the guardians got the individual on the ground.Sliwa was gleeful:
“His mother back in Venezuela felt the vibrations. He’s sucking concrete. The cops scraped him off the asphalt. He’s on his way to jail, but they’ll cut him loose.”Hannity was gleeful and said the volunteer guardians were “amazing.”
Turns out the guy wasn't a migrant, he was a resident of the Bronx. He was not charged with shoplifting. He was issued a summons for disorderly conduct. Police said he tried to disrupt the interview and was being “loud, disorderly and threatening on a crowded sidewalk.”
Maybe he was being beaten up too loudly, I dunno.
