I see Schumer's reasoning, but I think he's wrong. And maybe a bit of a coward. The Felon and Musk are already shutting down the government. Rejecting the bill will just hasten the process, and people will feel the pain more immediately. I say "vote no" until they include Dems in the negotiations.

I don't care that you folks hate X. That's a you thing, not a me thing.
I linked to Schumer's actual floor speech. It doesn't get any more "news" than that.

You're also not thinking strategically:
Rejecting the bill will just hasten the process, and people will feel the pain more immediately

This isn't like when Obama or Biden were President and they could blame it all on the Republicans and let trash pile up in the National Parks. Or try to close the open-air memorials in D.C. so Honor Flight vets wouldn't get to go.

Nope, this time if the government shuts down the OMB director decides where the incoming money goes...and knowing him, he'll zero out the useless parts of the government and probably pay down the debt with what he has left over. The GOP gets the W and the dems get the L.

And now the stage is set for either a full budget -or- another CR passed under reconciliation that codifies

-Making Trump’s tax cuts permanent
-Permanent cuts in funding to certain organizations
-More border security
