I love gardening and this month has had beautiful weather for us. I’ve been working almost every day hauling out 2 or 3 30-gallon bags of weeds and overgrown plants. If you thought getting rid of mint was hard, try lilies of the valley! I need to get everything ship shape before the mulch is delivered.

I was dragging out the last bag for today, dressed in my dirt-stained jeans, a ratty t-shirt, and a sweaty wide-brim hat.

A man was walking by and said how much he admired my garden work, saying it was the best he’d ever seen. He took one look at me and asked how much I charged for my work?

I said that I sleep with the lady of the house.

He thought for a minute and said “Let me check with my wife.”
