For that certain someone who keeps harping on Biden's record-breaking defense spending, here's a chart of defense spending as a percentage of GDP, the most statistically accurate measure of comparison between presidents.
Reagan's defense spending peaked at 5.7% of GDP during the Cold War.
Biden's projected 2024 defense spending is 2.7% of GDP.
So Biden's defense spending is less than half of what Reagan was spending as measured by percentage of GDP and near an all-time low.
During the Vietnam War, defense spending peaked at 8.6% of GDP.
During the Korean War, defense spending peaked at 11.3% of GDP.
So can we put a sock in this nonsense, please?
