There is a Marketwatch article quoting a portfolio manager Jim Paulsen. The article says there are 5 pillars of investing to be considered for future gains.
The 5 are:
(1) A Fed funds rate cut is supportive; (+14.6%)
(2) A declining 10-year Treasury yield is supportive; (+15%)
(3) A declining rate of CPI inflation is supportive; (+9.2%)
(4) Annual growth in the M2 money supply is supportive; (+12.9%) and,
(5) Increasing U.S. consumer confidence is supportive.(15.8)
He also states that if only one is supportive the return is (+1.3%), if two are in fav(+8.2) to a max of five (+16.3).
