Hi,

Does anyone know of a website that lets you put in a specific date and see what the stock market chart looked like at the end of the day? This would be great if it worked for an individual stock, but even if it was just for a major index like the SP500, that would be fantastic!

Any ideas?

I don't know of a good simple source for that.

But Pinnacle's "X3" file has the Dow Jones including the level an hour after open and an hour before close, back to 1932. Plus high/low/close, of course. That would give you an idea of strong or weak open, and strong or weak close.

That full history can be purchased for $39. An update subscription is pricier.

Thanks mungofitch! Only other thing I can think is that maybe Investor Business Daily back issues would have info.
