bighairymike: But the source of the funds was secondary to the fact that Iran now had $4B to use for sponsoring terrorism and developing nuclear weapons both of which it is well known that Iran is already doing.

First, Iran doesn't actually have the money. Qatar's central bank will oversee the funds and Iran will be permitted to use the money only for humanitarian purposes in accordance with U.S. sanctions and each transaction will be monitored by U.S. Treasury. According to the terms of the agreement, the U.S. could freeze the released funds again if Iran tried to spend the money in violation of U.S. sanctions.

But republicans said something on Fox so they must be right.

Now you're going to say, but Iran could just shift funds around and fool America. Well, sure, except Iran doesn't have any money and every transaction will still be monitored.

I guess we'll see.
