I honestly can't say that any of my close friends are in the MAGA/Trump camp, unless they are 'closeted'.
But, of course, I interact with Trump voters every day and those interactions are fine. Outside of social media, most people know it's not worth discussing politics. We are so deeply divided.
I took my guitar amp to a man who specializes in fixing old Fender amps. A friend had forewarned me not to bring up politics. Good to know.
At one point this guy says, nobody is buying amps and guitars now. Puzzled I asked him why he thought that was so. His reply: "We've just lived through the worst presidency this country has ever seen. Nobody can afford anything."
I didn't respond and he let it go.
In my brief interaction he struck me as a very nice man and we have a lot in common. Now maybe we could have had a non rancorous political discussion but given that neither of us was going to have our mind changed, it just seemed best to let it lie.
Biden in his mind the worst; no doubt in his mind Trump, the best.

People I actually associate with, almost all of them despise the Felon. Even the registered Republicans among them. I know some of my neighbors (whom I see in passing) have negative things to say about Biden (and Obama before that), so I'm assuming they voted for the Felon. They're perfectly nice people, they just either a) hate Dems more, b) are clueless (as most of the US population is, frankly), or c) are closeted NAZIs. I doubt "c)". I suspect some combination of a) and b).

I doubt many will do that. The last time we were united is when we were attacked in 2001. Bush squandered that unity, but it was there for a while. I think most people (on both sides) know that.

Go take a road trip. Wear a MAGA hat in Portland or Seattle and measure the response. Then wear a Biden/Harris t-shirt in Texas or Florida.

The left has been calling Republicans Nazis since Bush43. They took it up another notch with Trump. Look at any thread here - nothing but personal attacks, you're a terrorist, you're a fascist, you love Hitler, blah blah blah.
Now they're suddenly wondering why no one wants to engage in political discussions. Gee, maybe nobody has the time nor the inclination to be hectored constantly?
Oh, and I very much doubt that IRL very few lefties here actually interact with any righties.
