Just as Russia said it will not pause in its invasion against Ukraine, Trumpedo said that their invasion of Polish airspace was probably just an itty bitty teeny little mistake.
Poland says, umm, nope, no way, not a chance and we know it.
WARSAW, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Poland rejected on Friday a suggestion by Donald Trump that Russian drone incursions into its airspace could have been a mistake, a rare contradiction of the U.S. president from one of Washington's closest European allies.
Poland, backed by aircraft from other NATO, shot down drones that had violated its airspace on Wednesday, the first time a member of the Western military alliance is known to have fired during Russia's war in Ukraine. So, yeah, Russia! Russia! Russia! has Trumpedo on their side, not on NATO's side.
SAD!

NATO is quite capable of beating-back any Russian hostility, even without the US. From the western perspective, that is a side benefit of Russia's adventurism in Ukraine: their military is heavily degraded. NATO is more than capable of responding; even more so since they have been enhancing their posture after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
No far, Poland isn't invoking the NATO treaty. Fortunately for Russia.

iirc, Poland has invoked Article 4, which is consultation with allies, vs Article 5, which is "grab your gun and come running".
I wouldn't bet on Russia being all that degraded. We don't know how much more cannon fodder they may have imported from North Korea, along with a lot of ammo and equipment. The pace of bombardment of Ukraine has reportedly increased, so Putin is getting a lot of hardware from somewhere.
Let's see if the exercises with Belarus complete and everyone goes back to their barracks, or not.

Putin is getting drones from China. He gets some from Iran, but Trump knows Putin is being supplied by China -well, maybe he fell asleep. :)

I would. I've written in detail in the past. A brief summary: their Black Sea Fleet is seriously damaged. Early-on they lost most of their MBTs (latest T-90), and replacement is slow. So they have been emptying their boneyards all the way back to WWII equipment. They lost a lot of their first-line personnel, and have since depleted their prison population in the effort. The age distribution of troop casualties has shifted to older as they enlist more older people because they're running out of younger ones. They lost something like 1/3 of their bomber fleet.
Yes, they have been getting support from DPRK. Which means they've run out of shells, and need to augment with DPRK shells, which have a reported failure rate of 30-40% (last I knew). Their troops are a joke, according to the Ukrainians. Yes, they are fodder for the Russians to throw at the Ukrainians. But not a serious threat, apparently.
Just the European NATO alliance would pound Russia into the ground at this point. Russia would have to go nuclear, which I don't think even Putin would think is a good idea. If the US honors its commitment, Russia would lose pretty much everything they sent to the front. It would be a rout. That perhaps wasn't true pre-2022. Or maybe it was, given that a third-rate power like Ukraine stopped them in their tracks, and they've been unable to make much progress in the three years since. But that mire has degraded their conventional capabilities significantly.

And now Romania.
Zelensky condemns Russian incursion in Romanian territory
The Romanian Air Force deployed two F-16 fighter jets to track the drone presence before it disappeared near Chilia Veche, according to officials.
“Romania condemns Russia’s reckless behavior, which threatens regional stability. Together with our @NATO Allies, we remain vigilant and ready to defend every inch of Allied airspace,” Ionut Mosteanu, Romania’s Minister of National Defense said in a post on X, noting the population was never in danger.https://currently.att.yahoo.com/news/articles/zele...Steve

Waiting for Trump to do...something...anything?
He sure either loves Putin or fears him. But something is seriously wrong.

But Trump’s Dance Hall On The Rose Garden is coming along nicely. Important because it's a gaudy, garish, monument to himself, that people will remember long after Trump is six feet under.
You know who else I have noticed swaggering around in a gold plated palace? Putin.
Here's Putin with the Qatari Emir. Setting looks familiar, in it's expression of "taste".
https://www.arabnews.com/node/2597424/worldMaybe Trump will organize his own troop of goose-stepping guards, like Putin has too?
Steve...old enough to remember Nixon's "Prussian guard" uniforms.
