For months, we have been hearing about the desperate need for ammo in Ukraine. Hard won ground is at risk of being given up. Putin is emboldened. The drumbeat continues right up to this week’s passage of the Ukraine Aid bill.

Today, I heard some official reply to a question about when Ukraine will get some of these much needed munitions. The answer, to my surprise, was “in a matter of days”. Huh/How? Because much of it is already staged in Germany! Okay.

My question is this, “If Ukraine was on the ropes as advertised, why weren’t the arms staged in Germany already in Ukrainian hands? Why the wait until the aid bill passed?

We have arms staged all over the world, most in our bases all over the world. We also have fighter jets, troops, and all manner of military personnel and equipment all over the world. They're basically just taking some of the stocks we have for rapid response and sending them to Ukraine, to be replenished (i.e. our stocks) as soon as we can make more.

Supplying the aid to Ukraine before the bill was passed would have amounted to unauthorized use of military equipment (plus, there would not have been funds to replenish those supplies for our people).

We could "abandon" them some arms. It wasn't a problem in Afghanistan. Seriously, if we have the arms to give them today without jeopardizing our own security, then we also had the excess arms last month too. Give them to our friends the Ukrainians who were figuratively dying in the trenches for lack of ammo. I say we were stampeded.

For more money which was just passed.

Now middle class Americans send their money to wealthy Ukrainian Zelensky buddies.

Liberals feel like they stuck it to Putin - which is fine - because to Liberals it's all about personal stuff.

More people die.

Club 401K keeps ticking.

Because it’s been a useful tool for Biden to hit the Republicans with. He could have given them the out of inventory ATAMCS rockets months ago…and chose not to.
