Turns out Speaker of the House Mike Johnson had a subscription to Politico Pro, as did most members oh the House and Senate- including one particular Representative who actually tweeted about the graft revealed in all of those Politico Pro subscriptions- Lauren Bobert.
And who paid for Lauren’s subscription?? USAID.
A political database, that’s what it is. Reporters also subscribe to it- on their own dime.
Tempest in a teapot.

US Taxpayers should nut be paying for anyone's subscription to Politico.

If reporters are paying for subscriptions with their own money, that is no problem. Since they pay privately, then their payment would not show in the US Treasury's payment system, so how do you some reporters even have a subscription?

As much as you would like for the sunshine to go away, the fact that some Republicans also have US taxpayers pay for their subscription does not make it OK.
In general, "The your guy did it too or did it worse" is just an attempt to shut down the debate, when instead the dialogue should be around how best to stop the waste, regardless of the party affiliation of the perpetrator(s).
No doubt, DOGE will turn up bad decision making and wasteful spending by Republicans too, maybe even more than Democrats.. I have no problem with that. Waste is waste and needs to stop rather than bending to the dem argument of "It's OK because your guy did it too."
Stopping as much waste as possible, irrespective of which party sponsored it, is just one example of the common sense found on main street and expressed in the 2024 election.

if DOGE finds waste that is benefitting Republicans, it's my hope they cancel it on the spot.
But then again, I'm not a Leftist Sheeple Jihadi

What I consider waste isn't my gut reaction to it, I think thoughtful analysis works best, this is just red meat for MAGA.
