I believe Kennedy did exactly that for Cubans. Instant citizenship. No poor struggling immigrant sob stories necessary. (Of course they weren't poor anyway.) Just hit the beach and you're in. Keeping in mind the Cubans of that cohort group were the ones who owned all the property, had all the money, owned all the businesses and worked with American Capitalists for decades (Ok I guess the mafia and the cia too...?) to make conditions in Cuba so bad Castro and the Commmies actually looked like a better deal.
Not a one of them has vetted for evidence of eating pets, cats, dogs, mental illness, crime... tattoos fer chrissakes. What about tattooos? LGBTQ status? Are they even the right religion?
Excellent point. But you don't know for sure there has been no vetting. The larger point is they are from a First World country (for the time being anyway) and would probably be deemed to need less vetting. Not at all surprising. Besides, what were there, like 60? You could practically get to know them personally which i believe is part of it. These didn't hear Bob Barker say "Come on down! They know somebody who knew somebod yadda yadda... Donald Trump.
