Markel at $1789.50, gradually falling, down from a peak around $2200 last December, and definitely sliding in the last 3-4 weeks. It may keep sliding a bit longer.
An update:
Markel at $1719, still gradually falling, down about 21% from a peak around $2200 last December, and definitely sliding in the last 8 weeks. It may keep sliding a bit longer.
P/B at 1.12, low end of the range of around 1.1 to 1.45 in the last several years. Similar to 2020 levels, otherwise not seen since about 13 years ago.
The growth rate isn't quite what it used to be, and there are sometimes bumps along the way, but I think it's still a pretty good company. Upside seems quite a bit better than downside. That's assuming you ignore transient stretches of very low prices during panics which can happen to any stock.
