Abortion was THEE reason the Right lost the mid-terms. Now this Taliban IVF thing is political gold....

https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/democrats-embr...

"Democrats Get Personal on IVF, Putting Republicans on Defensive"

Someone on the GOP needs to get the Social Right in a room, theater to ostracize them from everything even if it means losing a few cycles, and how we'll do all in our power to see to it that Atheism and Islam combined dries up their pews and their tithe money. If they don't believe it, tell them look across the pond and see some of the most popular food dishes and baby names from London to Paris.

Remember - months ago and since I'm one of the few saying - the President has a waaaaay better shot to win than anyone is saying.

I still say - election today - Trump wins.

6 months of campaigning where Biden tells the Progressives to sit down and shut up?

Prsident Biden win reelection - - barring some unexpected events.

Nah, you're not the only one. I think Biden wins handily in November. Look at the map:

https://www.270towin.com/

With current polling, it looks like Trump has 235 EVs to Biden's 226 with 77 undecided. But look where the undecideds are:

Georgia
Pennsylvania
Michigan
Wisconsin
Nevada
Arizona

Take PA off the list. No way Trump wins there although their state court just ruled that you do actually have to date the ballot. That was a big blow to the dems. That's 245 for Biden

Michigan? dems will descend into Dearborn and tell the locals that Trump will round them all up and ship them to a camp. The UAW will whip votes also even though Biden is steadily killing their jobs. Biden to 260.

Then it's just a matter of snagging either Arizona or Georgia. In Georgia the dem story will be pleading with Fulton county blacks to vote because Trump will put them in camps. In Arizona it'll be about gaslighting the border and begging Hispanics not to switch because Trump will put them into camps.

See a pattern? The democrats can't sell ideas, they can only sell fear and ("Joe Biden reduced inflation"). They was on full display at their Tell Me How Out Of Touch You Are Without Telling Me How Out Of Touch You Are Fundraiser in NYC this week.

And for those who want to dispute what I said, here's today's liberalism in a nutshell:

*Jail Trump
*Ban the electoral college
*Pack the supreme court
*No voter ID
*censor free speech.

If those things happen, the left can save democracy <--- exactly, this is insane, but that's what they've become.

Hat tip to anonymous.

The truth is neither side - as far as the Ruling Class goes - wishes to save democracy.

They want to slice and dice it to their own ends....and the fact is that they're respective tribes, armed with their news ghettos made up of cable news and blogs and their insular social circle....will applaud as it happens.

Whether it's Leftists who want to tell people "hey you bought into that wellness shit and now you're 85! Well, take the pain pill and stay away from our colors".

Whether it's Liz Cheney who wants to say "go. Wave the flag, support our troops, genuflect for AIPAC and Israel, put a few more billion into Ruling Class bank accounts, and go die while killing people you never met before".

The good part is, we as a people and country, combined with our natural resources are still more EXCEPTIONAL and SUPERIOR to the world.

They couldn't do jack shit without America.

Heh.

If convicted, Trump deserves jail. So that's a nothin'.

The electoral college should be dismantled, but that would require a Constitutional amendment, which we all know isn't going to happen.

Biden has had 3 years to pack the Court, and not done it. So...nothin'.

First give everyone an ID, then we can talk about requiring one to vote. Conservatives don't seem to like that first part.

Sadly, both sides are occasionally guilty to censoring free speech. I think the right is far worse about it (banning books, speech, or anything they consider "woke", etc), but I have been very disappointed in college students who campaign to prevent speakers from delivering talks on their campuses. Better to get those ideas out there, and then eviscerate them, rather than stifling the airing of those ideas. The whole point of college is to be exposed to a wide array of ideas and thoughts, and learn how to reason your own opinion.

Only by people who don't see a whole country and want to only cater to parts of it.

Yeah, both sides cater to their bases.

But both sides aren't scared of the electoral college.

It's ok. Michigan or Iowa have an important voice. Ohio.

It'll be ok. Pretend you are a country for a few more months..... who knows it might take.

No, because Reps benefit from the electoral college. Close races can become blowouts because of the distortions of the EC, and a few times the candidate with the fewest popular votes has won because of the EC (and, at least for the last few decades, it has always been a Rep).

I more or less understand why the EC was conceived, even if I disagree with it. I think Madison also hated it, IIRC. The Senate membership was supposed to compensate for varying state populations (i.e. 2 senators per state, period). The EC was probably unnecessary then, and arguably is harmful now. Certainly superfluous. The EC enables a "tyranny of the minority", as I recently heard it stated.

LOL

One of the reasons you are always laughed at so much is just how terrible you are at understanding opposing arguments. In fact, I have never seen someone who posts links that actually support his opponent's arguments more than their own because you are unable to comprehend what you are reading.

Here is a quick helpful hint. If you cannot accurately describe your opponent's position than you will be unable to understand it or attack it.

Dope1: And for those who want to dispute what I said, here's today's liberalism in a nutshell:

*Jail Trump

Republicans are the "Lock Her Up" party. Trump has already been found liable by a jury for sexual assault. And guilty for fraud. We're not suggesting prison for either of those crimes. Tonight Trump posted a link to a published photograph of Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan's daughter, attacking her again so, who knows... maybe he ends up behind bars.

Clearly, while some folks may argue that the electoral college is outmoded, no one is suggesting "banning" the electoral college; at least no one of any consequence.

President Biden has had three years to "pack the supreme court" and it never happened. He's also said he doesn't believe in doing so.

Democrats issues with voter IDs are: they cost money; they're inconvenient to get for older voters who no longer drive; voting is a constitutional right; some voters don't have or cannot afford the kind of documentation needed for a voter ID; and that there would be no universal federal guidelines because each state will want to control how voters qualify for and get an ID.

But in general, most democrats wouldn't have a problem with voter ID. Where I live, we all just have our driver's license scanned without complaint.

And yeah, free speech is such a problem in a world overrun with X, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. And Fox "News," Newsmax, and idiotic radio programming with Bannon and a whole range of crazies. I mean, however can republicans get their message out?

Maybe sano is right and I was wrong.

Sope, let me help you accurately describe your opponent's positions since you are laughingly terrible at it:

"*Jail Trump"

I think you mean Democrats want to maintain rule of law. People who break the law should pay the price. It is quite clear Trump has broken many laws. I am sorry that you think rule of law should be selectively applied based upon the cult status of the politician.

Simple question for you to run away from: Do you think people who can demonstrably be shown to have committed crimes pay the price for those crimes?

It isn't Democrats fault that the only Republican that the Cultists will vote for is a criminal and is facing the music for the crimes he committed. No one was trying to jail Nikki Haley. No one was trying to jail Ron Desantis. Or Tim Scott, or Christie, etc.

Besides, you have it exactly backwards. It is the Republicans who have been trying to jail their political opponents. Does "lock her up" ring a bell? Or who is the only President to illegally withheld congressionally appropriated funds in order to entice a foreign government to investigate his political enemy? Or who is the only President to openly ask his AG to investigate his political opponents? Any of that ring a bell, or are you using your selective memory and willfully ignoring that which you find inconvenient?

"*Ban the electoral college"

Not 100% true. At all. There are plenty of Democrats who are fine with the Electoral College. Besides, even among those who want to dump it, it would be better characterized as wanting a more representative electoral system. Not allowing a tyrannical minority to rule. I can understand why conservatives want a tyrannical minority rule though because they cannot really win without it. Their policies are deeply unpopular and their candidates are even more unpopular. The have only won the popular vote once in the past 32 years (and even that required a 9/11 that made the president look sympathetic). Republicans literally cannot win a popular vote.

"*Pack the supreme court"

I think you mean UNpack the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has already been packed by Mitch McConnell. You didn't seem to have a problem when he did it. So are you for or against packing of the Supreme Court? I think in your case, you answer depends upon who is doing it.

"*No voter ID"

I think you mean no poll taxes or other barriers used to suppress legal voting. Democrats recognize that voting is already extremely secure and they want to keep it easy for everyone who is legally eligible vote be able to do so by not putting up barriers that would not solve any real problem and just make it harder for some people to vote. I get that Conservatives want to suppress the vote, they need minority rule (see Electoral College above).

"*censor free speech."

In what way?

It is conservatives who are regularly trying to ban books. It is Trump who is trying to make it easier to shut people up by suing them for slander. It is Trump who regularly speaks about locking up or suing journalists in order to quiet them.
