This nation is likely to die within her lifetime, unless the people reject "Trumpism" and return to reasonable governance.
Years ago, the scale of the effort to unhorse fascism in Europe was observed, and the question asked, who will get the US off it's present track? We have seen regimes fall from their own corruption and hubris in Nicaragua, Argentina, Greece, to name a few, but those are all relatively small countries. We saw the Soviet regime collapse, replaced by rampant corruption, then replaced by Putin. The ChiCom regime is coming up on it's 80th anniversary. Were I a betting man, I would expect the US to follow the Russian model: Trump, having demonstrated that high elected officials can engage in unlimited, brazen, corruption, without consequences, will probably set the pattern for the "leaders" after he falls off his perch. Whether another "strongman" shows up to get everyone whipped into line, after a decade or two of unlimited corruption is a good question. Or the US sinks into the perpetual turmoil of the typical banana republic, swinging from corrupt democratic regimes, to military coups, and back again.
