Which is what I don't get.
I get that they don't want a democrat. Fine. But right now they have several Rep candidates to choose from, and Trump is beating all of them combined. Why aren't they lining up behind Christie, or Desantis, or Haley? That I don't get. Trump is just so awful in every way; incompetent, venal, narcissistic, an egocentric megalomaniac. Yet they are going to vote for him in the primaries.
I wonder if the Founders foresaw this when they made up the voting rules. Originally, senators were appointed (for example). The VP was voted separately. Etc.
