On the radio in the car I am starting to hear political ads. One did exactly what albaby said they shouldn't do: spend time on P2025.

Albaby is wrong on this one. Trump can plead that he knows nothing about it, and his diehards will believe him, but those in the middle will wonder. So many of the positions align with his, so many of the people involved in writing it worked for him, and so much of it is bonkers that it provides WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION of what could happen, should he be elected.

People don’t have to read all 900 pages to know there’s some scary stuff in there. In fact, just a quick overview is probably enough to achieve the goal. Care about abortion? Yes, a total abortion ban is in there. Care about education? Yes, a completely decimation of the Education Department is in there. Care about the climate? Yes, a cessation of climate initiatives coupled with increases in fossil production and use is in there.

It’s like one of those “tear off” ads you see thumbtacked on the bulletin board at the supermarket. Choose the issue you care about most: there’s a piece of horrible just for you. It’s actually *perfect*, and probably the stupidest thing the Heritage Group has ever done, putting a blueprint in, uh, print for everyone to pore over and find what they don’t like most. The more exposure it gets, the worse it is.

And that goes for people who aren’t heavily involved. Albaby is afraid people won’t wade that far into the weeds to understand it and he’s right. Where he’s wrong is thinking people have to. This amorphous book of frights and terrors is fodder for all sorts of conversation, all of it bad for Trump.

He’s right that Dems shouldn’t spend *all* their time on it, but then they shouldn’t spend all their time on any single issue, or personality, or responding to the idiot. It’s one ingredient of the recipe, it’s potent, and it’s fabulous. Keep at it, it’s a freaking GOLD MINE.
