That's already in use all around the world. I believe China is the most extensive, with cameras everywhere and facial recognition running on all of them. I think London has extensive "CCTV", likely with facial recognition. At airports, they scan your face when you enter, and when you leave. (That has made the immigration process faster...I suspect that it records when you depart/enter, and notes that you later return/leave.)

It won't be too long before they won't be just fixed cameras, but drones buzzing around.

At least your TV doesn't watch you. Yet.
