There, Democrats. Have it. Use it. Run with it. I know you’ll likely produce a bloodless, 500-page briefing book on SNAP, but real talk is better. “Starving kids” is better than “the fiscal and health-impacts of the discontinuation of 7 CFR 273 programmatic efforts to ameliorate food insecurity.”

Here’s the ugly truth the House GOP can smell but won’t say out loud: they’ve already lost the shutdown, because Trump cancelled Thanksgiving.
They lost it the minute Trump turned the federal government into a hostage for his own vanity, and as a protection from the release of the Epstein files.
They lost it again when reality showed up with receipts; polls, long lines at food banks, missed paychecks, grounded flights, and, coming soon to an aisle near you, the SNAP freeze that wallops retailers from Walmart to your neighborhood Publix.
This isn’t 5D chess. It’s 1D cruelty dressed up as strategy, and it’s detonating in their faces. Even Little Mike Johnson, Trump’s latest meatbot who obviously finds self-abnegation and public embarrassment arousing, can’t hold it together too much longer. ...

You do realize people like Rick Wilson's bread and butter is deliberately spouting utter nonsense to appeal to their tiny audiences' thirst for confirmation bias, right?
That's the only reason those people watch Rick Wilson,isn't it? To feed their own delusions?
Trump didn't "cancel Thanksgiving." Rick knows it, and they know it.
He's appealing to pure negative emotions in a lot of people who probably, at the minimum, have many traits common in those with sub clinical, if not clinical, borderline personality disorder.
Normal people will, in fact, have Thanksgiving this year. Much of Rick Wilson's audience are very far from "normal," and probably have terrible relationships with their family members because of their emotional instability. So that's why they won't have Thanksgiving, if they actually won't be having it this year.
Another similar and recent example of this kind of "journalism" happened just last night. Jake Tapper had an astronomer on his show to discuss a rare interstellar comet that is coming to Earth's vicinity. Rather than limit the discussion to "the science," Jake insisted on floating the notion that the comet somehow was indicative of the presence of "alien technology." His pretext for doing so was some oddball crackpot "scientist" somewhere, but his motivation for injection UFOlogy into what should have been a straight science discussion was to appeal to the insanity of much of his audience.
Your post reflects the same kind of pandering by Rick Wilson--to the mentally unstable.

As Wilson explained, democrats have a tendency to produce a bloodless, 500-page briefing book on SNAP when the simpler phrases “Starving kids” and “Trump cancels Thanksgiving” is more instantly understandable than “the fiscal and health-impacts of the discontinuation of 7 CFR 273 programmatic efforts to ameliorate food insecurity.”

Every now and then, Democrats should imitate Republicans’ proven strategy of appealing to negative emotions rather than rationally appealing to the better angels of human nature:
Democrats’ “War on Christmas”
Democrats support terrorists
Democrats hate America.
Biden invited pedophiles, rapists and drug dealers into America.
The problem for Republicans, if both sides ceased appealing to negative emotions…. Is that they’d have very little left to work with.

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said she "was horrified" that a "toilet like that existed inside the White House" and Trumpedo complained that the 1940s renovation "was totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era" and, well, sure, no doubt Abraham Lincoln spent many relaxing moments producing Lincoln logs beneath a crystal chandelier surrounded by marble and gold.
In fact, I'm pretty sure that was the exact same bathroom the family had in the one-room log cabin where Lincoln lived as a boy on Sinking Spring Farm.
What a frickin' doofus.
BTW, marble is a horrible choice of material for either a functioning kitchen -- one that's actually in use rather than simply for show -- or a bathroom. The marble needs to be sealed and resealed, and any water on the marble has to be wiped up right away or the iron in the water discolors and dulls the marble. It's really a bitch to keep looking decent.
