Speaking of small cap, I was thinking of starting to dollar cost average into the Vanguard small cap value index fund (VSIAX).

Expense ratio 0.07%
Number of stocks 858
Median market cap $6.7 B
Earnings growth rate 14.1%
P/E ratio 14.6x
P/B ratio 1.8x
Return on equity 11.5%
Dividend yield 2.0%
10yr performance 7.89%
Since inception 11.77% (9/27/2011)

These days it's rare for a basket of US stocks to have a P/E of less than 15. This one is only 14.6. It's not going to go bust. Dollar cost averaging should lead to pleasant results. No? P/E for US mid cap and large are all well above 15, even for the value funds. Even Emerging and Dev ex US are now P/E > 15 but still less than 16.
