Those in the cult who believe it would believe anything he said anyway so why not promise more?

I’m beginning to think this was a mistake, but not for that reason. Yes, there will be some cultists who say “Oh that’s just Trump being Trump” and there will be some who say “Great, I need the money.” But I have to believe (and here I’m putting on my “optimistic for the human race hat) there will be a FEW who say “You know, I wasn’t really paying attention to all that other stuff like the reflecting pool and the Ukraine thing and the Iran thing and the White House lawn wrestling thing and the starving babies in Africa thing and the rest, but this one sounds a little fishy, and I’m not so sure I trust him any more.

I’m hoping there are a least a few dozen who realize they’ve been had - and more with each ridiculous pronouncement, which is why his approval rating is somewhere around freezing and getting colder. This one, because it is so personally directed at people - and because it’s actual money - as opposed to all those other amorphous “issues” may actually get some attention, and I dare say, anticipated disappointment.

I know, I know, it’s already been done with the DOGE checks and the tariff checks, but this one smells different. In a very bad way, obviously.
