Not a household name by any stretch…… I had not heard of her till I was reading a blurb today about how she just set a course record for a 250 mile ultra-marathon race in Arizona, blowing away all other male and female competitors.
But it was the following from her wikipedia entry that really caught my eye (as if running 250 miles in less than 60 hours wasn’t enough)
Entrekin was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and took up running in college while pursuing her degree in exercise science.[4][5] She completed her degree in 2012, and her Doctorate in 2016. After running her first half marathon in 2010 and full marathon in 2011, she just kept running. She says, "I figured out I was pretty good at the races and just gradually increased the mileage and soon made the descent into insanity."[5]
