No one wants him. Very specifically, his own party. It's not that he has become a has-been; it's more like he was a never-been. Ever.

God help this Republic.

Br'er Bear.....identifying with that storybook character doesn't say much about your connection with reality or ability to understand how things work. I saw him in Song of the South when it first came out. And I read the original books. Br'er Bear is a slow-witted character with punitive and thieving intentions that are always foiled by Br'er Rabbit's smartness taking advantage of Br'er Bear's slow body and even slower brain.

And it is also thought that Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox represent slave owners.
