DJT the stock is up approximately 40% for the day, as I type. Not sure how that figure is arrived at, as the price chart for the day shows that it opened at $70.90, and it is currently priced at
$69.96. Showing a 40% gains means that it was priced at $50/ share
(IPO Price * 1.40 = $70........ IPO Price = $70/1.4= $50 ), so I assume that is what the 40% gain is referenced against.
It did spike up to $79.38, per the chart, soon after the opening.
Not much info as far as numbers on the FIDO site.
It's current market cap is $1.86 Billion ( considered a microcap, per FIDO )
Short interest is at just under 11%.
26 million shares have traded, as I type.
Does seem like it will be fairly easy for deep pockets ( Saudi's and Russians
come to my mind ) to keep this propped up, if they choose to do that.
From previous posts on this board, ( if I'm remembering correct ), DJT has very little
ad revenue coming in, and are spending much more than they take in. I don't short stocks,
and i wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole, but it is interesting to see how this plays out.

They're comparing it to yesterday's close of DWAC - the SPAC that Trump's company was merged into - which traded at $50 yesterday, more or less.

Not the IPO (or rather, the SPAC merger - there technically was no IPO). It's been in the works for years.
The real issue will be what happens going forward if Trump wins election. From past experience, we know he's not going to divest himself from this company. Which means that anyone who advertises on Truth Social will be providing earnings for Trump. Unlike his hotel and tourist properties, though, the gross margins on media buys are far, far higher than for hospitality. And since virtually every entity - from corporations to foundations to countries - buys some ads somewhere, it's very very easy to just order an ad buy from Truth Social.
So if you wanted to put $100 into Trump's pocket, you'd probably only have to buy about $180 worth of ads on Truth - whether they're ever seen by anyone or not.
Which is why it's actually not crazy for people to be bidding up the price of the shares (though there's probably a lot of meme stock puff in there). It's a bet on DJT getting re-elected, and folks wanting to get into his good graces by using his company for advertising services.

THEN I VOTE FOR DONALD TRUMP IN 2024.
