Just heard that the FDA finally banned red dye #3 from food. They had banned it from being used in cosmetics 35 years ago! Uh, WTF? So, 35 years ago, it was deemed too dangerous to put on your skin, lips or eyelashes, but still safe to EAT?

I don't think any dye should be allowed. Food is the color that it is. No need to enhance the color. Makes no sense to me, except as marketing.

Strawberry and Cherry Jolly Ranchers.

Red Gummy Bears.

Does this mean that these items will not be red anymore?

If so I gotta go buy some tomorrow.

Sure, RFK Jr. gets credit for the achievement of getting rid of red dye #3.

But also gets “credit” for all the children who die or are crippled for life because he convinced their parents not to vaccinate them.

No. That's due to the petition filed two years ago that he had nothing to do with.

Can you give any credit to RFK Jr for this acievement? red dye #3 from food

Hello...No.

California banned it in 2023, giving industry until 2027 to fully comply. Most California health initiatives eventually cause compliance nationwide (a reason Trump hates California), so it was just a matter of time. It was a battle but we got 'er done.

The California Food Safety Act prohibits the manufacturing, distribution and sale of food and beverages that contain brominated vegetable oil, potassium bromate, propylparaben and red dye 3 — which can be found in candy, fruit juices, cookies and more.
