An hour ago, dock workers from Maine to Texas walked off the job.

Dockworkers walked off their jobs at dozens of ports from Maine to Texas at midnight, launching a strike that threatens to rattle the American economy five weeks ahead of the presidential election.

Members of the International Longshoremen’s Association, which represents 45,000 dockworkers at East Coast and Gulf Coast ports, began picketing early Tuesday at cargo terminals that handle more than half of American import and export volumes as the contract with port employers expired.

If you live on the east coast or near the Gulf, you might want to stock up on certain items...

Hopefully the workers get every single thing they demand.

Ditto Boeing workers and anyone else.

It's time Club 401K pays up.

I'm encouraged to see the dock workers are trying to restrict automation. On one hand I'm pleased because that will cut into future profits of Woke Corporations and Club 401K'ers and their SP 500 God. BUT as someone who is looking forward to automation, coupled with cultural problems, coupled with Liberal arrogance leading *some* of those people to resort to 1/6 type activities and worse.......well, now I'm torn.

I so wish Republicans were walking the picket line.

Instead we side with Woke Corporations and in return get called 'party of the rich'.

There's a shortage of qualifications in America.

There's a shortage of stable people who wish to work in America.

So the ones that are stable and working - need to demand MORE. Club 401K needs a lower rate of return in the long term. Frankly we need to tithe them now and give the money to the poor and middle class.

Dope1: Members of the International Longshoremen’s Association, which represents 45,000 dockworkers at East Coast and Gulf Coast ports, began picketing early Tuesday...

ILA President Harold Daggett has a long history with DonOLD Trump and visited him in late November 2023 at Mar-a-Lago.

“We had a wonderful, productive 90-minute meeting where I expressed to President Trump the threat of automation to American workers,” said ILA President Harold Daggett. “President Trump promised to support the ILA in its opposition to automated terminals in the U.S. Mr. Trump also listened to my concerns about Federal “Right To Work” laws which undermines unions and their ability to represent and fight for its membership.”

"President Trump promised"?

Umm, first of all, he isn't president anymore. Joe Biden is president. Second, a Trump promise is about as rock solid as a fart in the wind. And if Daggett thinks Trump is on the union's side with respect to "Right To Work" laws then he's a moron.

Anyway, interesting timing especially since Daggett has said his strike could “cripple” the U.S. economy: “I will cripple you and you have no idea what that means. Nobody does.”
