You can be angry.

(You can be glad, although that's really not cool, but I get where you're coming from.)

But what you don't get to be is surprised. You don't get to be shocked, shocked. Not in this country, not in this day and age.

Not in this fish that is rotting from the head down.

Every other country in the world which calls itself civilized has figured out the solution to this problem.

You've seen the numbers, and you say, no. No, the world is wrong and I am right. By magical thinking, by straight-up selfishness, I am the one who is right.

You can't say we can't figure out a solution.

You have to say you don't want the solution.

You don't want it to stop.

So there you are.
