bighairymike: Speaking of purposeful editing and out of context, how about that bloodbath...
Well, lessee.
After vowing to impose tariffs on cars manufactured outside the United States, Trump said: “Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a blood bath for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a blood bath for the country.”
In what way is "a blood bath for the country" anything other than a blood bath for the country?
Had he meant a blood bath for the auto industry, wouldn't he have said "for the auto industry"?
In the same speech, Trump called some migrants “animals” and “not people, in my opinion”; described people convicted in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol as “hostages”; and suggested that American democracy would end if he lost. “I don’t think you’re going to have another election, or certainly not an election that’s meaningful,” he said.
Trump has said shoplifters should be shot. Did we miss the context?
Trump said Mark Milley, a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, should be executed. Was that a contextual error on our part?
He asked his supporters to “go after” the attorney general of New York. Oops, out of context, I guess.
If he lost his presidential immunity argument and his re-election chances were hurt, Trump said “It’ll be bedlam in the country.”
I dunno but I think we understand his words and their meaning very well.
