Redford’s greatest asset:

He was talented, smart and handsome.

And yet, he lived as if these things were only incidental qualities to be used in service to his passion for making movies.

I think I need to rewatch A River Runs Through It which he directed

Fascinating movie.

If you watch it, take a close look at the Sunday morning church service. It’s the only film portrayal of a Presbyterian worship service I’ve ever seen that comes close to being accurate- and that especially concerns the choice of a hymn.

I think I need to rewatch A River Runs Through It which he directed and Sneakers because it is fun.


A River Runs Through It has one of the loveliest endings of any film I can think of. Norman Maclean's beautiful words spoken in voice-over by Redford himself.
