Common ground!! I don't go to theaters much anymore, in part because of that.
Anecdote: When Return of the Jedi was in theaters, I was there (opening day). Initially as the opening credits rolled, and the first few characters went on screen, there were cheers and boos. Then dead silence throughout the film until the Emperor was telling Luke "the Alliance will fail, your friends will die..." (etc...I don't recall it word for word). From the audience someone shouted "F--- YOU!". That was the only thing anyone said during the entire movie. People laughed, and then it was quiet again.

Yeah, I saw Return of the Jedi when it came out too - mind you not on opening day.
I know things weren't perfect - in any time period. But I just think that the level of people not giving a shit about basic courtesy has skyrocketed. And yeah I admit I'm prickly. But at the movies - - shit I don't want to hear whispering and phones and see texting screens light up.
I used to love going to movies but because of this stuff I rarely go and frankly, the stuff they make now isn't even close to the stuff when we grew up.
Funny - last movie I saw in theaters was Maverick - that warranted the exercise. Also before that.... Planes Trains and Automobiles - I love when they bring stuff back on the big screen. I feel like it sort of teleports me back, if only for a few hours.

Concerned citizens deserve to know what Boebert, the Glock-slinging proponent of 2A is vaping in public. Was it a federally controlled substance? How can this person still be in possession of firearms? Who could deny that this deserves a long and excruciating investigation and a possible trial with a heavy fine and lengthy prison sentence?
