Going to need confirmation polls on this. Hoping it's an aberration - if it continues it's bleak It also means I don't understand my fellows.
*******
First, it is still early. President Rudy Giuliani, President Hillary Clinton will tell you that. For more ridiculous, YET statistically bankable numbers, Presidents Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Howard Dean and Mike Bloomberg will attest - it's early.
BUT.....yes, you do not understand many of your fellows.
Much of Club 401K here, and in the Coastal Corporate-Media-Complex, don't understand their fellows.
That's why they earned Trump, and they earned TrumpISM coming out of the woodwork and becoming mainstream in America, Brazil. India, Britain, Austria, France, Spain just to name a few.
Then on a smaller level, the Social Right didn't understand their fellows when Roe v Wade got overturned- and Red Ohio and Red Kansas stood up for abortion rights, and Repubs lost 2022 when they should have won.
From Brussels to London to NYC to LA to Target to Budweiser to Disney.....they don't understand their fellows - - and they had (NO) intention to understand their fellows.
So now here you are. Dems can win elections.......but MAGA is a plurality that HAS AND WILL gum up the works around the world.
NY City begging for immigration help. And the earth continues to warm.
Oh and here's a good one: Imagine, FOX and MSNBC are gonna be helping craft social security and entitlement reform.
Ain't that neat?

My posts aren't meant for you. I'm sure you're a nice fellow IRL and we could hoist a beer, etc., but I find you unintelligible 90% of the time. "Confirmation" when you are talking about polls means you suspect the signal, and need a few more polls to confirm this is a trend. I don't think it is.
I think many of the rightee posters here have an alternate version of reality. Here's the Euro view:
But disillusionment with U.S. global leadership may be better explained by widespread European public anxiety about a return of Donald Trump and the implications of his presidency for Europe.
Overwhelmingly, Europeans do not trust American democracy. A 2021 Pew survey found that a median of only 1 in 6 (18 percent) believe that the U.S. is a model democracy. No wonder they fear what the next election may produce. A majority (56 percent) believe that the transatlantic security alliance would be weaker if Trump is elected president next year, according to a spring 2023 European Council on Foreign Relations survey. And given Trump's past cozy relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, his refusal to say he would back Ukraine in its war with Russia and his ongoing criticism of NATO, such fears seem justified.
So I don't think you understand us, the Euros, or the rest of the world for that matter. That's just the way it is.

There are a lot of stupid voters. Our democracy is at grave risk. Trump 2 will be incipient fascism or worse.
