I miss his incisive commentary.
Did he get disgusted and leave?

He probably got sick and tired of your juvenile retorts disrespecting fellow posters.

I've been wondering too. We lost Goofyhoofy, who I would like to return. We ought to rename this Political Asylum and make a new Atheists board and ask LM, Dope, etc., to respect the difference.

Albaby's last post was on 7/28, which is only 10 days ago. Maybe he took his family on a two week vacation before the kids go back to school.

When the Atheists Board was the Atheists Board at TMF, you seldom saw someone on the right visit that Board. If they did it was a cordial give and take conversation. I myself never once posted a the TMF Atheist Board but occasionally read the posts there.
Not so here in some instances where posters from your side still have the old PA mentally of disrespect instead of debating their pros and cons. I believe it is why he left and maybe too much political debates.
In leaving though he offered no alternative suggestions or open any debate to the direction he would like this Board be.
There was a discussion a while back to rename this Board or create a new Board for political discussions and leave the Atheists Board be what it wanted to be. Nothing became of it though.

Conceivable. But I tend to think his real life is take precedence right now. Work, family, vacation.
I don't think he would be chased away that easily. He's a lawyer. He likes to argue. ;-)

Occasionally that would come up on TMF, too. Over there, the "Atheist Fools" board was a place for atheists to hang out and discuss <whatever>. If we had restricted it to atheism, it would have been a dead board. "Yep, still no god in sight." "Another day, another lack of evidence for any deity." I'm assuming this board is similar. Politics seems unavoidable. I'd post science stuff here, also, but manlobbi thought to create a science board, so I post some stuff there. And that board should be a politics-free zone, IMO.

I like the political debates and agree they could be more cordial but even that really doesn't bother me. I have pretty thick skin and occasionally I post with some snarkiness myself. If this board was pure atheist, the posting volume would drop 95% and I wouldn't come just to read the latest "Why Christians are dupes, etc". There is no insight to be gained from that but I do find value in the political discussion especially when a liberal point of view occasionally gives me pause or outright pierces what I previously thought I knew.

I believe Goofyhoofy is on the Facebook RELE Refuges page.

I agree with you. I also developed a thick skin during my time at PA. Mostly I ignored the swipes, but sometimes paid back in kind. Umm started posting here some time ago with his same PA venom, but seems to have disappeared. I just don't want to see this Board fall as low as the PA did.
Otherwise I'm very happy being here and more kudos to Manlobbi for developing his 'Halls Of Shrew'm Blog.

LOL someone spent decade+ on the Political Asylum board and somehow ran away from here?
Nope.
