Why are we talking about Epstein?
We should be talking about:
How food prices keep rising.
How the war in Ukraine is still being fought.
Trump floating the idea of a convicted sexual predator pardon.
How the prices of houses makeing them unaffordable.
How much tariffs are hurting every day Americans.
How his trade deal with Japan hurts American car manufacturers (and their employees).
How the Middle East is still in turmoil with children starving daily.
How his BBB will add trillions to our national debt.
How Trump is bringing murderers back to our country.
How Trump pardoned convicted insurrectionists and individuals who attacked police.
How his BBB will result in millions losing health insurance.
How his policies harm American farmers.
How the dollar has weakened.
How he is suffering from dementia.
How he nominated conspiracy nuts and totally unqualified people to his cabinet.
How his cuts to the SNAP program will cause children to go without adequate nourishment.
Oh, there is so much (and much more then I listed) to discuss besides Epstein.

Shhhhhh don't tell Sheeple.
Stay on Epstein.
*Ask Newt how the Lewinisky stuff worked for Republicans when they went after Clonton. Unless there's footage of this guy with 12 year olds......you are as of now giving Trump a pass on many issue*

YesAW, those are all more important issues- issues we have been raising for years.
But “Epstein and pedophiles” is an issue that has broken through with a significant portion of the MAGA base and opened a window on Trump’s criminality and lack of character that no issue has yet successfully been able to do.

While I really, really hope you are right, I guess we have to agree to disagree.
Folks on this board are political animals. We follow politics by the hour. We’re a small minority of Americans. The vast majority of Americans are just trying to live their lives.
Let’s say, hypothetically speaking, a tape surfaces of Trump having sex with a 15 year old. Dope will call it fake and will try to make Trump the victim. LM will forgive his sins. BHM will try to split the baby. People who already know Trump is a criminal sleaze ball will know he’s a criminal sleaze ball. Nothing much changes.
How do you reach people who want to buy a house? Or rely on Medicaid and Social Security? Or want to put food on the table to feed their family? Or need a new car without a 7 year loan? Or are tired of inflation? Or are worried about endless wars? Or want murderers out of the country, not brought back into the country? Or want trade deals that help Americans, not the Japanese? Or are worried they’re losing their freedoms? Or think veterans deserve better care?
I think the reason we’re seeing Trump’s approval numbers dropping is because he, and the idiots he has appointed (with Republican’s blessing), have been completely and totally incompetent (with the exception of grifting). It’s not much of a surprise.
Hey, I enjoy seeing MAGA in a circular firing squad as much as anyone else. It’s great entertainment. But as they say, it doesn’t pay the bills.
My philosophy is never interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake. Let the Republicans/MAGA fight among themselves. Should we throw a little gasoline on the dumpster fire occasionally? Sure. But I don’t think it’s the hill Democrats should die on.
There are more important issues.

100% agreed, those are all more important issues, and unarguably more significant (impact*numbers) to gop voters.
but MAGA thinks they are winning on those issues, despite general uneasiness with trump's polling.
the last decade has shown that gop\MAGA hysteria fades when facts emerge, regardless of how bad. attribute it to puffery or whatever is faddish.
for example, i am open to the possibility that there is no evidence of a direct sex crime by trump. but where are the evangelicals and christian right which would probably have rated this as their main topic? (yes, while kids are starved and the poor are ravaged or worse)
they are in the same place of economic gop voters that claimed concern about high prices and now see them in reality...silent but proud MAGA.

I don't think anyone is making it into that, but it's the only thing that seems to gain traction - nothing else moves the needle. And I think the disappointment in polls for Dems, is underlining that people are becoming disillusioned with politics and politicians on both sides. We are living in a strange world I've never seen before because Trump seems to survive anything, nothing shakes his base, and he has power because of that. I think there is a deep seated generational distrust of back east in the South, West, and Midwest, which propels a back easterner into power and specifically because he doesn't pay attention to niceties, party lines, and separations? I've been forced to come to grips with the fact our government operated on norms and understandings that can be tossed with little effort. Laws can be ignored and it takes time for a legal decision, and that can be stayed. Congress doesn't really control the purse strings. The shadow docket means things don't have to be explained legally. Things can be torn apart and scrapped before a final decision is rendered. The President has been handed a lot of power.
The point is we are probably past the point where we should be worried, we need to seize every opportunity. Drive wedges into those rifts.I don't see it happening and 2026 looks to be the test. What is going on with the gerrymandering? Are we going to be bypassed entirely? And how should I invest for the coming downturn?

If Dems campaign on Epstein, they'll probably lose. People care most about pocketbook issues.
However, MAGA is -evidently- energized by this issue. If the Felon is annoying MAGA, then I think Dems should take maximum advantage of that.
I agree that all those other items mentioned shouldn't get lost in the fog. As I've said before, the Felon is handing the next two elections (at least) to the Dems if they Dems don't blow it. Forgetting about those issues is "blowing it".

Not by harping on “not Trump”. The problem democrats have is that they have nothing to offer, and when progressives surprise the Clintonite mainstream with primary victories, the Clintonite mainstream goes to war with the upstarts. Hell, they’d be happy to see Adams restored in New York. The Clintonite moderates need to die off before a democratic revival capable of challenging MAGA emerges.
