Unfortunately that statement aged just fine. That statement wasn't meant to be factual or anything like that. That statement had two purposes. One, appease the boss, which it did. Two, convince the uneducated and uninformed that the Reflecting Pool did not fall apart due to incompetence of leadership and instead deflect blame elsewhere (i.e. liberal terrorists or Antifa.) In that regard it worked as well. At least some (perhaps small, but still) percentage of the population believes that the Reflecting Pool repairs were sabotaged and destroyed. While it reinforced the theme in the Nutter's brains that liberals are violent and destructive.
Pirro wasn't trying to factually convict Hearn. She was just spreading the propaganda to take advantage of the ignorant.
