https://finance.yahoo.com/news/where-gas-prices-ar...REGIONS LIKELY IMPACTED BY TARIFFS ON OIL IMPORTS
Trump’s 10% tariff on Canadian energy will hit the Northeast*, Midwest, Great Lakes, and Rockies hardest, as their refineries rely on Canadian heavy crude — driving fuel prices up.

If the current estimate of the tariffs costing $1200 over the next year for the average American family hold up, that doesn't seem like much to me. I myself will hardly notice. But I guess for people living paycheck to paycheck or SS check to SS check, it will hurt.
On the other hand, the stock market plunge is hitting me and others with 401ks and other stock investments a lot harder. But I have no intention of selling anything any time soon, so when the Democratic President, House and Senate take full control in 2028 with an actual meaningful mandate, and rights this foundering ship of state, I expect to be put at ease.

Ok, so when Liberals, Europeans, or even Canadians say that American Corporations are greedy, and that the profit motive shouldn't be so important - you agree?
Cool I'm with you. I cede the argument and you're right. The Canadian companies SHOULD make as much return on investment as they can.
Ditto Exxon, McDonalds, Halliburton, Goldman Sachs and the rest.
And the Oligarchs should use the money for more yachts too.
I cede this one 100%, you win.

Somewhere on phone lines in D.C. a conversation is taking place. The subject of the conversation is "Why do you, Country X, bar certain American goods from your shores via tariffs yet expect us to level nothing in return?"
It's a simple, and very good, question.
There's a lot of dumb stuff we do just because we seem to have been doing it for years. To me, and to most, that's not a recipe for success in the future.

Looks like Trump is going to blink first, but then declare he WON the tariff wars. And MAGA will CHEER his great victory.
