While not exactly a surprise that the guy who started his first presidential campaign by spreading false conspiracy theories about America's first Black president was caught on tape dropping an N-bomb, after his 20-year DNA expired Bill Pruitt, a producer for The Apprentice, wrote an article on the incident.

“I think Kwame would be a great addition to the organization,” Kepcher says to Trump, who winces while his head bobs around in reaction to what he is hearing and clearly resisting.

“Why didn’t he just fire her?” Trump asks, referring to Omarosa. It’s a reasonable question. Given that this the first time we’ve ever been in this situation, none of this is something we expected.

“That’s not his job,” Bienstock says to Trump. “That’s yours.” Trump’s head continues to bob.

“I don’t think he knew he had the ability to do that,” Kepcher says. Trump winces again.

“Yeah,” he says to no one in particular, “but, I mean, would America buy a n— winning?”

At this point, even if the tape were released (and there's no reason to believe it will be), die-hard cultists wouldn't bat an eye.

And far too many of them would approve of his racism.

Odd that Trump is supposedly gaining ground with black and hispanic voters.

It's not that odd. Black and hispanic men typically hold more conservative social beliefs than Democrats in general. They also tend to be more supportive of traditional conceptions of masculinity, which aligns more with GOP attitudes on society than that of Democrats:

Where do two crucial Democratic constituencies, Black and Hispanic men, fit in? It turns out that in terms of self-defined masculinity, they are far closer to Republican men than to Democratic men, according to Cox, Lee and Popky: “A majority of Black men (55 percent) and Hispanic men (52 percent) say they are very manly or masculine.” On this measure, there is statistically virtually no difference between Republican men, Hispanic men and Black men.

Yeah, but Trump hates them just because they are black or Hispanic. I wouldn't vote for someone who hated me.

But still, to vote for someone who has a history of racism?

Sure. They have a wide variety of things that are important to them, and that animus is only going to be one part of it. It's not like any of them will run into Trump personally - and many young folks are skeptical that the federal government is on their side in any circumstances.. It's not like Log Cabin Republicans didn't exist, after all.
