Historically, one of the ways that authoritarian governments have controlled their citizens is by getting them to 'snitch' on their co-workers, classmates, and neighbors. Today's right-wing tattletales are walking a similar path that the German citizens walked when they turned in their neighbors for being jewish or sympathetic to jews.

Anyone who points out the factual record of Charlie Kirk rather than raise him to martyrdom or who doesn't toe the party line on his assassination, veering from what is "allowed" to be said about Kirk is fair game for the new secret police.

The party that has spend years whining about the threat of being surveilled and of having their right to free speech taken away from them is eagerly keeping a watchful eye on traditional media and new media for messages that might sully the name of Charlie Kirk and ratting them out.

Trumpedo and republicans are trying to establish a bounty system where citizens, students, or anyone for that matter, can report professors, co-workers, classmates, and neighbors who say or teach things they don’t like.

We are becoming 1930s Germany.

1984, here we come - from Wikipedia:

In Oceania the upper and middle classes have very little true privacy.[87] All of their houses and flats are equipped with two-way telescreens so that they may be watched or listened to at any time. Similar telescreens are found at workstations and in public places, along with hidden microphones.[87] Written correspondence is routinely opened and read by the government before it is delivered. The Thought Police employ undercover agents, who pose as normal citizens and report any person with subversive tendencies. Children are encouraged to report suspicious persons to the government, and some denounce their parents.[87] Citizens are controlled, and the smallest sign of rebellion, even something as small as a suspicious facial expression, can result in immediate arrest and imprisonment. Thus, citizens are compelled to obedience.
